German driver Stefan Bellof waits in his Tyrrell ahead of the 1984 Monaco GP. Bellof is most famous for having the fastest lap around the famed Nürburgring Norschleife, a record that still stands today.
Bellof had incredible pace in the rain during the race and was closing on both Prost and Senna, the two leading cars. He finished third, but was later disqualified due to weight infringement by his team Tyrrell.
This race is also famous for Senna's brilliance in the rain. Driving a midfield Toleman, he was taking huge chunks of time out of leader Alain Prost's Mclaren. The race was stopped because it was deemed too dangerous to continue.
In this picture you can also see the old style of balaclavas worn by F1 drivers during that time.
